Nestled conveniently on Rúa de Clara Campoamor in the bustling heart of Santiago de Compostela’s transit hub, O Balcón das Brañas redefines what it means to grab a quick coffee or meal on the go. This coffee shop isn’t just a pit stop for tired travelers—it’s an inviting oasis where warmth, flavor, and genuine hospitality come together to brighten your day.
What truly sets O Balcón das Brañas apart is its seamless blend of practicality and charm. Imagine starting your morning here with a perfectly brewed cup of coffee, the rich aroma swirling around you as you enjoy the friendly buzz of fellow commuters and locals alike.
Customers consistently praise the outstanding service—always courteous, attentive, and remarkably quick—even when the place is busy. Raymond R marvels at how this “balcony cafeteria” elevates the typical bus station experience, emphasizing not only the friendly vibe but also the surprisingly fair prices, including those of the vending machines. Ana Ruiz highlights the excellent value, mentioning a lunch menu that delivers a satisfying combination of bread, a flavorful main course, a refreshing beverage, and a delightful dessert, all for just €12.
If you're looking for a hearty breakfast to start a travel day on the right foot, Chris Tarzan Clemens recommends the “huevos con bacon,” a dish rich in comforting, savory goodness that promises to keep you energized and ready for your journey. Meanwhile, Helen Helen can't get enough of the views from the terrace—offering a scenic pause to sip your coffee while soaking in the vibrancy of the station below. She also fondly recalls the warm and friendly service from a waiter named Rony, making each visit feel personal and welcoming.
The culinary offerings extend beyond coffee and classic breakfast fare. Alessandro Javier Garcia Di Puglia raves about the “dish of the day,” featuring crispy fries, succulent ribs, and spicy chorizo—a hearty plate that embodies the rustic flavors of the region, prepared with care and a touch of local flair. This blend of quick, affordable meals with high-quality ingredients and generous portions makes O Balcón das Brañas a beloved spot for both locals and travelers.

Wow! A bus station that sets the standards high! And of course this is a review of the balcony cafeteria. Anyone taking the bus from here will be happy to find that this place is human friendly. Even the vending machines are priced very fairly. If you want the greatest experience then get there early and enjoy the wonderful things that they offer! Wow, it really sets the bar high!

Coming from Fisterra I skipped breakfast to make it to the bus on time. I was so happy to find this place upon my arrival. They had a lunch menu that included bread, main course, a beverage, and dessert all for €12 euros. For such a busy spot in a prime location, the staff was courteous and attentive, and willing to answer all my questions. I always check Google reviews before I go eat, and this place was on the lower rating (3.8), but upon looking at the most recent reviews (always good to do), it looked like whatever happened, things are turning around here. All I can say for myself is the meal was delicious and exactly what a traveler like myself needed. And I am really glad that I gave this place a chance! Will be back for dinner upon my departure to my next destination tomorrow evening .

For us this was a great breakfast in a bus/train station. I wasn't expecting much but the service was fast and great, even though they were busy, and the food was actually really good! If you want a good breakfast before a bus/train trip order the huevos con bacon, it'll fill you up!

I love this place. The food is good and so is the service and, of course, the views from the terrace. Today a waiter called Rony served me. He was nice and friendly.

There’s nothing like good attention on any cafe or restaurant. Costumer service is great and specially from the Venezuelan staff. Food is also really good (specially the dish of the day that i got which consists on fries, ribs and chorizo). I would eat here any day. Update: still my favorite place to eat here

The food was absolutely amazing, the views are spectacular, the workers are really, really nice. I had a server from Cuba named Odalys and she was so nice and friendly and understanding and explaining everything that was on the menu. It's interesting that the train station only has a chain type food service area, but here at the bus station the options are better, regional, and better price. I had the one plate fixed menu and it was delicious.

I was traveling with a large group and we needed a takeout order pretty quickly in order to catch our bus on time. Maria Carmen was friendly, helpful, efficient, and patient with my Spanish. I didn’t expect to have such a great experience at a bus station cafeteria but it was five stars.

Can’t believe I’m at a bus station! Great service from the staff and absolutely clean. The view is pretty good too!
